At SCCC Danny Sellick teaches ASL I (SL10) and ASL II (SL22). He also teaches ASL to grades 7-12 at East Islip High School. He will be working this fall with 12-14 year old deaf children of special needs at the Cleary School for the Deaf in Nesconset. Danny is deaf and is very active in the community, in particular through his efforts to broaden the awareness of deafness and deaf culture through his educational connections. He has a BA in Human Resources from Empire College and is a member of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and the American Athletic Association of the Deaf (AAAD). His interests lie in teaching ASL as a foreign language at the HS level and bilingual-bicultural education.

"ASL, my primary language, is close to my heart and it feels great to be a part of spreading the growing respect for ASL to the hearing population."
