Rose Costanzo gets to spend more time with her husband than most women do because her husband, Danny Sellick is also an adjunct in the dept. She earned her BA in Elementary Education from Queens College, an MS in Deaf Education from Western University in Oregon, and a post-graduate mathematics certificate from Gallaudet University. Rose is a proponent of the bilingual-bicultural philosophy of teaching deaf chidlren. She tries to make parents and professionals understand and respect how ASL can be used to teach English. She is also a teacher at the Cleary School for the Deaf Secondary Program at East Islip    High School and is a member of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD).

 
 

 "The integration between my professional and personal life with regards to deafness is a great joy to me.  Watching my students develop their skills brings greater understanding to the dynamics of sign and the importance of ASL in America."
