Prof. DeMasi
Susan DeMasi, the Ammerman Campus Media Librarian, received a B.A. in English from SUNY New Paltz, an M.A. in Communication Arts from the New York Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in Library and Information
Science from the Palmer School, LIU.

In previous phases of her life, she worked in the fields of journalism (writing for the New York Times and other publications, and teaching
print journalism at Hofstra University), public relations and broadcasting (as a radio newswriter at WKIP in Poughkeepsie, and as a
writer, producer and director in cable television). She won a first prize award in magazine writing from the Press Club of Long Island, as
well as two New York State School Public Relations awards for cable television programs she wrote and co-produced.

In the area of screenwriting, Professor DeMasi was the winner of the 1998 Showtime/Nantucket Film Festival Screenwriting Award. She's also
been a quarterfinalist in various other competitions, including the Nicholl's Screenwriting Competition (sponsored by the Academy Awards Foundation.)
