Professor Gaete has worked as a professional ghostwriter in the private
sector. She has also done public relations work for several executives
on Long Island and Manhattan.

Before accepting a teaching position at Suffolk County Community College, Professor Gaete taught at several other colleges and universities on Long Island including Nassau County Community College andHofstra University. She has taught classes in all areas of the
Communications field, including oral communication, public speaking, and
interpersonal communication.

Professor Gaete completed her undergraduate work at Binghamton
University and her graduate work in Communication at Boston University.
Her post graduate studies include classes taken at S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook and S.U.N.Y. Albany.

She is married with two young daughters. In her spare time she does volunteer work for the Smithown Veteran's Youth Program and fundraising for the American Institute for Cancer Research.
