The Music Department at the Ammerman Campus has established itself as one of the leading community college music programs in the country. With course offerings and other opportunities that rival many four-year programs, students enjoy a unique learning environment that focuses on preparing them for a career in music. Graduates of our program have gone on to become successful in a variety of music fields, including education, conducting, composition, performance, and recording. |
The foundation of the program is our diverse and talented faculty. Not only are they scholars, but also active conductors, composers and performers. The fact that they are also active with music outside of the college lends even more credibility to their teaching, as they can support their classroom work with practical, real-world experiences. |
The Music Department offers courses leading to an A.S. degree in music and allows graduates to transfer inot Bachelor's degree programs as a junior. Just some of the schools where our students hav continued their music studies include: SUNY Fredonia and Stony Brook, the Crane School of Music, Queens College, Ithaca College, Westminster Choir College, Mannes and The Berklee College of Music. |
