Academic Search Premier
    The world’s largest academic multi-disciplinary database, Academic Search Premier provides full text for nearly 4,650 serials, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. This database is updated on a daily basis via EBSCOhost.
AP Multimedia Archive
    AP Multimedia Archive is a digital library of photos, audio clips and graphics.
Associations Unlimited
    The premier source for associations - use this database to locate approximately 460,000 international and U.S. national, regional, state, and local nonprofit membership organizations in all fields, including IRS data on U.S. 501(c) nonprofit organizations. The database is also used to monitor association trends; identify related associations; networking and making professional contacts; marketing to associations, their members and markets.
Book Index with Reviews
    Book Index with Reviews (BIR) helps you find information on the books you want and need to read. BIR is a cooperative effort between NoveList, EBSCO Publishing and Baker & Taylor.
Books in Print
    Books in Print contains in-print and forthcoming books, audios and videos, as well as books, audios and videos declared out-of-print or out-of-stock-indefinitely since 1979.
Business Resource Center
    Business and Company Resource Center is a fully integrated resource bringing together company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies and periodicals. Search this database to find detailed company and industry news and information. Most of the articles are full-text and available online.
Business Searching Interface
    This database is an expansion on Ebsco's Business Source. It include company profile, industry report, countries studies, etc.
Business Source Premier
    Business Source Premier, designed specifically for business schools and libraries, provides full text for more than 7,400 scholarly business journals and other sources, including full text for nearly 1,100 peer-reviewed business publications.
Charleston Advisor
    The Charleston Advisor publishes critical reviews of online resources for libraries. To maintain a high level of accuracy and integrity, all reviews are peer-reviewed by experienced librarians.
CINAHL (Nursing)
    Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health (CINAHL) indexes nursing and allied health articles from worldwide, scientific literature. It includes nursing, allied health, biomedical, consumer health journals, and publications of the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing. Most of the articles are not full-text and must be searched for in our print collection.
Clase and Periodica
    Clase and Periodica offers access to more than 300,000 bibliographic citations from documents published in 2,600 scholarly journals published in the Spanish, Portuguese, French and English languages. Most articles are not availalbe fulltext.
College Source
    College Source features over 25,931 College Catalogs in complete cover-to-cover, original page format representing 2-year, 4-year, graduate, professional and international schools.
Community Resource Database of Long Island (Directory)
    Computerized directory of community services and resources includes information on more than 4,500 health, human service and education agencies and programs in the Suffolk County/Long Island area.
CQ Researcher
    The CQ Researcher explores a single "hot" issue in the news in depth each week. Topics range from social and teen issues to environment, health, education and science and technology.
Custom Newspapers
    Custom Newspapers is a collection of 150 national & international full-text newspapers. It includes the current year of the New York Times.
Dissertations
    Contains indexing to over 2,000,000 dissertations dating back to 1861.
Education Research Complete
    A large database of fulltext educational journals
ERIC (Education)
    ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, is a national information system supported by the U.S. Department of Education, the National Library of Education, and the Office of Educational Research and Improvement. ERIC provides full text of more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from over 1000 educational and education-related journals.
Ethnic News Watch
    Ethnic NewsWatch indexes news, culture and history from 200+ publications of the Ethnic, Minority and Native Press, both in English and Spanish. Most of the Articles are full-text and available online.
Facts on File
    Complete content from the Facts On File World News Digest since 1940 and selected content from six other core reference databases to answer questions about events, issues, statistics and people of the last 60+ years.
Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia
    Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia database indexes over 25,000 records, covering an array of topics. Full text for each record may be easily accessed by double clicking on the topic from the display
Gale Virtual Reference Library
    Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for research in a wide variety of subjects.
Gender Watch
    Gender Watch is a full-text database that focuses on the impact of gender across a broad spectrum of subject areas. All the articles are full-text and available online.
Geo Base
    GEOBASE indexes worldwide literature on geography, geology, and ecology. It includes journals, books, monographs, conference proceedings, and reports. Most of the articles are not full-text and must be searched for in our print collection.
Granger's Poetry Online
    Electronic version of the Columbia Granger's Index to Poetry. It includes some full-text poems.
Grove's Dictionary of Art
    Grove Art Online provides Web access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art (1996, 34 vols.) with annual additions of new material and updates to the text, plus extensive image links.
Harper's Weekly-The Civil War Era
    Harper's Weekly-The Civil War Era (1857-1865) is the full-text and image of the Harper’s Weekly. Users can either browse through the journal or search for articles. All articles are full-text and available online.
Health and Wellness Resource Center
    Provides instant access to carefully compiled and trusted medical reference materials. Includes nearly 400 health/medical journals, hundreds of pamphlets, over 700 health-related videos from partner Healthology, Inc., and articles from 2,200 general interest publications in addition to a broad collection of Thomson Gale reference titles.
Health Reference Center - Academic
    Health Reference Center Academic indexes articles and reference sources on a wide variety of health topics including fitness, pregnancy, medicine, nutrition, diseases, public health, occupational health and safety, alcohol and drug abuse, HMOs, prescription drugs, etc. Most of the articles are full-text and available online.
Health Source: Consumer Edition
    Health Source - Consumer Edition provides access to nearly 300 full text, consumer health periodicals.
Health Source: Nursing & Academic
    Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition provides more than 550 scholarly full text journals, including nearly 450 peer-reviewed journals focusing on many medical disciplines.
Informe
    Informe contains the full-text of 50 Spanish-language and bilingual periodicals—including popular titles such as Actual, Latina and Siempre!
Infotrac One File
    Infotrac is a one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports, technology, and many general interest topics. Millions of full-text articles, many with images.
Investext Plus
    With a rich backfile to 1982, search this database to find investment, company and industry reports from over 500 brokers in North America, Europe, Asia/Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. All company and industry reports are provided in full page PDF image
JSTOR Digital Archive
    The JSTOR digital archive contains fully searchable cover-to-cover replicas of the complete back-runs of important scholarly journals across more than 40 disciplines int he social sciences and humanities.
Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts
    LISTA indexes more than 600 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.
Literary Reference Center
    Literary Reference Center (LRC) is a comprehensive literary reference database, which provides users with a broad spectrum of reference information from antiquity to the present day. LRC is a completely full-text database that combines information from over 1,000 books and monographs, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, hundreds of literary journals, and unique sources not available anywhere else. LRC contains detailed information on the most studied authors and their works and is an essential resource for public, academic and high school libraries.
Literature Resource Center
    Literature Resource Center includes biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of more than 120,000 authors from every age and literary discipline. Most of the articles are full-text and available online.
Long Island Union List of Serials
    Long Island Union List of Serials is a directory which tells you what library owns which periodical. It is useful when trying to find a journal that is not owned by SCCC.
Magill's OnAuthors
    Magill's OnAuthors database includes: Critical Surveys (includes: Long Fiction, Short Fiction, Poetry, Drama and Mystery and Detective Fiction Series), Magill's Choice: Notable Poets, Magill's Choice: Shakespeare, Magill's Choice: 100 Masters of Mystery and Detective Fiction, and World Philosophers and Their Works.

    Medline is a service of the National Library of Medicine and it provides access to over 12 million citations to medical and life science journals dating back to the mid-1960's Many of the articles are not full-text and must be searched for in our print collection.
Military & Government Collection
    Military & Government Collection provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 400 journals and periodicals pertaining to all branches of the military and government.
MLA Bibliography (Literature)
    MLA International Bibliography provides over one million citations for items from journals and series published worldwide covering literature, language, linguistics and folklore. Most of the articles are not full-text and must be searched for in our print collection.
National Newspaper Index
    National Newspaper Index indexes America's top five newspapers in one seamless search: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post. The articles are not full-text.
Net Library
    NetLibrary is a collection of electronic books. You will need to login if you are off campus
New York State Newspapers
    New York State Newspapers includes ten major newspapers published in the state of New York, including the New York Times and the New York Post. Most articles are full-text.
New York Times Historical Archive (1851-)
    The New York Times (1851-) offers full page and article images with searchable full text back to the first issue. The collection includes digital reproductions providing access to every page from every available issue. It does not include the current three years. The current three years can be found in Custon Newspapers.

Newspaper Source
    Newspaper Source provides selected full text for 25 national (U.S.) and international newspapers, including USA Today, The Christian Science Monitor, The Washington Post, The Times (London), The Toronto Star, etc. The database also contains selected full text for more than 200 regional (U.S.) newspapers.
Opposing Viewpoints
    Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center provides access viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary documents, links to websites, and full-text magazine and newspaper articles on a variety of social issues such as abortion, capital punishment, affirmative action, illegal immigrants, medical ethics & more.

Professional Development Collection
    Professional Development Collection, designed for professional educators, provides a highly specialized collection of more than 750 full text journals, including more than 350 peer-reviewed titles.
PsycARTICLES
    PsycARTICLES covers general psychology and specialized, basic, applied, clinical and theoretical research in psychology. The database contains more than 34,000 searchable full text articles from 43 journals published by the American Psychological Association and 8 from allied organizations.
Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection
    The Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection is a comprehensive database providing nearly 550 full text publications, including more than 500 peer-reviewed journals. The database covers topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.
Regional Business News
    This database provides comprehensive full text coverage for regional business publications. Regional Business News incorporates coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. This database is updated on a daily basis.
Religion & Philosophy Collection
    Religion & Philosophy Collection is a comprehensive database covering such topics as world religions, major denominations, biblical studies, religious history, epistemology, political philosophy, philosophy of language, moral philosophy and the history of philosophy. This database offers more than 300 full text journals, including more than 250 peer-reviewed titles.
Resources for College Libraries
    Resources for College Libraries is the 2006 edition is the long-awaited successor to Books for College Libraries (BCL3). The core list features 65,000 titles in 58 curriculum-specific subjects. Titles have been selected for your academic library by more than 300 subject specialists and bibliographers.
Science Direct
    Science Direct contains over four million articles and over 59 million abstracts from all fields of science. Some of the articles are full-text and available online, while others are not full-text and must be searched for in our print collection.
Serials Directory
    The Serials Directory provides access to the most up-to-date and accurate bibliographic information as well as current pricing structures for popular serials. This invaluable resource is made available via EBSCOhost®. It contains nearly 212,000 U.S. and international titles, including newspapers; data from nearly 108,235 publishers worldwide, including e-mail and Internet addresses; and Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal Classifications for every entry.Classifications for every entry.
SIRS Knowledge Source
    SIRS Knowledge Source provides relevant, credible information on social issues, science, history, government, the arts and humanities. Most of the articles are full-text and available online.
Sociological Index
    The Sociological Index is a comprehensive database covering information in all areas of sociology, including social behavior, human tendencies, interaction, relationships, community development, culture and social structure. This database provides complete full text for more than 500 important journals, including nearly 500 peer-reviewed titles.
The Twayne Authors Series
    omprises 600 full-text titles from the Twayne Literary Masters series, 200 each from Twayne World, US, and English Authors
Vocational & Career Collection
    Vocational & Career Collection provides full text coverage for 400 trade and industry related periodicals.
Westlaw Campus
    Westlaw Campus is a Web-based legal research tool for undergraduate and graduate students who need to research law-related issues. Aside from the case and statutory law, it also includes articles from legal periodicals. Most of the articles are full-text and available online.
Westlaw Pro

Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated
    Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated includes in-depth, full-text profiles, with more than 32,000 photographs of the subjects, plus up-to-date bibliographies.
