The Tree of Knowledge
Each year more than 20,000 members of our community - from recent high school graduates to returning senior citizens - attend classes at Suffolk County Community College, a leader in excellent, responsive, innovative higher education. Our students choose from more than 1,000 courses offered on three campuses in Riverhead, Selden and Brentwood.
As Suffolk County Community College looks back on 45 years of history, and as we prepare for the challenges of the new century, we have established a unique program to help our students and our college.
A Tree of Knowledge stands at each campus as a symbol of growth and steadfastness - providing for new programs or expanding current ones to enhance the learning process and ultimately result in a superior educational experience for each student.
The campaign for the Tree of Knowledge provides a unique opportunity for individuals, corporations and institutions to participate and improve the quality of life in our community.
By making a tax deductible contribution, you can join with many others in an exciting partnership between the college and the community.
The Tree of Knowledge Campaign
The Tree of Knowledge campaign has a $500,000 goal to assist in the continuing work of Suffolk County Community College. These funds will support such projects as:
  • scholarships for deserving students
  • the honors program
  • new facilities and improvements
  • professional development
  • scholar-in residence programs
Gifts may be designated for use for specific purposes or used where most needed by the college.
"In Honor" or "Memorial" gifts may celebrate a birthday, anniversary or special occasion, or express fond remembrance of those who are dear.
Each gift is recognized in a lasting inscription and placed on the Tree of Knowledge for all to see.
