This online program is designed for students who are highly motivated
and work well independently in a less structured environment.
Students can complete the program on
a full-time or part-time basis. It is strongly recommended that
all students who intend to matriculate into the business online degree
program communicate with an advisor before registering. An advisor can
assist you in designing a program according to your personal needs and
circumstances. This advisement is especially important if you have never
taken an online course.
Since some courses serve as prerequisites for
others, it is important that you study the sequence of courses outlined
under the Business Administration A.A.S. Degree
http://www3.sunysuffolk.edu/Catalog/2004-06/SCCC04_06Catalog.pdf
(page 98) in the college online catalog before
registering. Most courses required for the business degree are offered
during the fall and spring semesters. However, specific business courses
needed to complete the degree may not be offered during summer sessions
and winter intersession.
The online business program offers great
flexibility for working adults who wish to complete program requirements
at a slower pace. We have found that students who have their own computers are
more successful with online courses. Owning a computer gives you access
to your course when it is convenient for you to complete your
assignments. All students taking classes at Suffolk County Community
College (SCCC) must follow policies stated in the online SCCC catalog
and student handbook.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding
your decision to take courses online at SCCC, please contact Prof.
McNamara
or Prof. Connolly. They will be happy to talk with you about SCCC’s
online courses.
