Why study online at Suffolk County
Community College?
A community college experience stands as an excellent option
for students seeking affordable, quality higher education taught by
faculty with credentials from many of the country’s most acclaimed
colleges and universities. Our online program utilizes new technologies
and the Internet to provide flexible learning opportunities. Rather than
studying on campus, the online business program affords you the
opportunity to complete all degree requirements from your personal
computer.
SCCC’s online business courses are designed for students who
are self-motivated and can work independently in a less structured
environment. All courses are offered over the Internet and are neither
time nor place bound. You can work from your home computer and have
access to campus resources wherever you live.
How do you describe the Business Administration Online
A.A.S. Degree (315)?
This two-year
career program is intended primarily for those students who intend to
seek employment directly after its completion. The curriculum provides
essential knowledge and skills in the financial management and marketing
facets of business as well as supporting areas of communications and
mathematics. Students can pursue their interest in one of seven
specialized areas of business (human resources management, management
technology, marketing, entrepreneurship, international business,
business law, and economics) through their choice of business electives.
The curriculum is adaptable to many four-year college degree programs in
business, and graduates will find reasonable transfer opportunities
available to them should they desire to continue in a baccalaureate
degree program.
Do I need to meet any special requirements to
matriculate into the online degree program in Business Administration?
Students who are placed in developmental reading,
mathematics, or English as a result of admissions testing will not be
allowed to matriculate into the online business program until they have
completed all developmental coursework.
Do I need to be matriculated in the online Business Administration
program to take online Business classes?

program. However, if you are considering an online degree in
business, you should matriculate to exercise priority registration in
online course sections.
How are the Online Business classes facilitated?
Suffolk County Community College is using the
SUNY Learning Network
(SLN) for the online courses. ALN is an Asynchronous Learning Network.
The activities of online classes are the same as traditional classes -- students read
course materials, write papers, do research, and communicate with their
instructors and fellow students. The only difference is that the
class is held via the Internet.
Are Online classes easier than traditional classes?

more challenging than traditional classes. Individuals must be self-motivated

Depending on classes taken, it is possible that students with older

Help Desk service for registered students.
