What is EAP?

The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) is a grant-funded program created to assist potential and existing entrepreneurs in the creation and expansion of their businesses. EAP is partially funded by the Empire State Development Corporation to provide for the development and implementation of a business training program. Through a series of courses, seminars, counseling and technical assistance, participants can maximize their knowledge of business operations.

How does EAP work?

The ten (10) week business training program is designed for client entrepreneurs to interact in forty-five (45) hours of required business courses and a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of management and technical assistance seminars. Each session is three (3) hours long; classes are held in the evenings from 6:00 - 9:00pm.

Special efforts are made to recruit and select minorities, women and the physically challenged.

What can I expect from EAP?

Client entrepreneurs receive one-on-one counseling, assistance with packaging business loans, mentor support and peer group support.

A major requirment of the training program is the completion of a business plan by participants. To achieve this goal, various sections of the business plan have been incorporated into the required core business courses.

Our goal is to empower our clients with the knowledge to make good business decisions. This will enable them to run successful businesses in this competitive environment.

What is the cost?

Tuition is $250.00 for target group members. This fee is due upon acceptance into the program and payable by check or money order to Suffolk County Community College-E.A.P.
