Welcome to Writing to Learn at Suffolk County Community College. WtL at SCCC is designed to help students reach their academic goals and get the most out of the courses they take. In general, students who are encouraged to write as part of the learning process often learn subjects better, and retain information for longer periods of time. You will find that many of your courses require some writing, from short written responses to extended research essays. The writing you do as a student, regardless of your field of study, will better prepare you to meet the academic and professional demands you will face at SCCC and far beyond. In addition to the instruction provided by faculty members, students may take advantage of a wide range of college writing resources, including the Writing Center, the Library, and the Academic Computing Center. If you are interested in learning more about these resources, or about WtL in general, please check out the links below.
