What is Writing to Learn?

The Writing to Learn program at SCCC promotes the use of writing as a learning tool.  The degree to which writing is incorporated into individual courses is left to the discretion of the instructor or individual departments, but in general, WtL courses use writing as at least one of the requirements and tools of the course.

As with all courses, students are encouraged to use the resources made available by the college for help with writing and research, including the Writing Center, the Library, and the Academic Computing Center (see below for links).  Similar resources are made available to faculty who wish to incorporate writing into their courses, including WtL training sessions and faculty support in the Writing Center.
