FAQs

Writing to Learn (WtL) at Suffolk County Community College is part of our initiative to improve general education through the use of writing as a learning tool. Our WtL program is based on the belief that writing can be a useful way to encourage learning and critical thinking in all the disciplines.  Students often learn subjects better, and retain information for longer periods of time, when writing assignments are incorporated into the classroom.  WtL at Suffolk County Community College provides faculty with resources to help them introduce writing into their classes at all levels and in all disciplines, and it includes resources for students who wish to improve their writing in any or all of their classes.  Please find to the left links to our faculty, student, and FAQ pages, as well as links to WtL resources and programs throughout the country.
